Joliet Steak ‘n Shake customer files slip and fall lawsuit

A Steak ‘n Shake customer filed a negligence lawsuit against the restaurant chain’s now-closed Larkin Avenue location in Joliet, Illinois. The lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

Germaine Moore suffered a slip and fall accident during a trip to the men’s restroom at the restaurant in November 2018. According to court documents, he slipped on a puddle of water on the floor just inside the door. He sustained serious injuries and is now disabled because of the accident.

The men’s restroom floor allegedly became “dangerously slippery” after Steak ‘n Shake staff mopped it. The lawsuit claimed the restaurant knew or should have known about the hazardous condition and had a responsibility to make sure the diners on its premises were safe.

Slip and fall accidents tend to occur suddenly, making it hard for people to regain their balance or grab hold of something to prevent the fall. As a result, they can cause severe, life-altering injuries such as brain trauma or spinal injuries.

If you were hurt while dining at Steak ‘n Shake because of the restaurant staff’s negligence, it may be possible to pursue damages for your injuries. Call the personal injury attorneys at Briskman Briskman & Greenberg  for a free consultation.
